October is breast cancer awareness month and is an annual campaign to raise awareness for the disease. The goal is to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and the funds to help support life-saving research and life-changing support. Wear pink tomorrow, Wednesday, October 5th to show support for breast cancer survivors and raise awareness for their story.

The FLMS soccer team too care of part one of challenge week, beating a strong Seekonk team by a score of 4 to 1. The game was tied1 to 1 at half, but FLMS came out with some intensity to start the second half. The team looks to continue the good momentum as they take on first place Swansea on Wednesday. There is no soccer practice today.

The FLMS soccer team beat Westport yesterday by a score of 5 to 1. The team is currently 4 and 0 but has an extremely difficult week coming up as they take on the two strongest teams in the league. The FLMS Newspaper Club will be holding its first meeting on Wednesday, October 12 with Mrs. Gallagher in room 111 from 2:05-3:00. Anyone who is interested in joining the Newspaper Club or just seeing what it is all about is invited to attend. The Newspaper Club meets 1-2 time per month and creates 3 issues of The Freelake Ledger, a digital newspaper, each school year.
