Health Concerns:
If your student has any severe allergies, surgeries, accidents or new health problems that may occur during the school year, please inform the school nurse.
CONCUSSIONS/INJURIES/SURGERIES: If your child sustains a concussion, an injury or had surgery a doctor’s note is required to excuse the student from gym class and sport activities. All doctor notes for concussion/injury/surgery should be given to the nurse by the student in order for her to assess and speak to the student directly on his/her return to school.
A Physician's clearance note is also required for the student to return to gym class/sports activities.
Flu Information:
The flu is a highly contagious viral infection of the respiratory tract. Although the flu affects everyone, children tend to get it more often than adults. The season for the flu is usually from November to April but can start as early as October and end as Late as May.
The flu is often confused with the common cold, but flu symptoms tend to develop quickly (usually 1 to 4 days after a person is exposed to the flu virus) and are usually more severe than the typical sneezing and stuffiness of a cold.
