The Social Studies Department would like to thank all of the 11th grade students who
participated in the 2023 Voice of Democracy Contest. We would like to thank all of the
classroom winners for sharing their speeches yesterday afternoon and we would also like
to thank the Freetown VFW for sponsoring and supporting this annual contest. Now we
would like to announce this year’s winners. In third place, Judson Cardinali, in second
place, Eugene Jung, and the first place winner is... Gabby Fernandes! Congratulations!!!

Attention PSAT takers - today is the deadline to complete your mandatory tasks to
prepare for Wednesday's PSAT. Instructions were emailed to your freelake account. Make
sure you complete these tasks or you may not be able to take the PSAT. See Ms. Graf
with questions.
Homecoming is on November 17th this year at Whites of Westport. Ticket prices are 45
dollars with a canned good donation, and 50 dollars without one. Sales will begin on
October 30th for Grade 12, October 31st for 12 and 11, November 2nd for Grades 12, 11,
and 10, and November 3rd and 6th for all grades. We will also be holding ticket sales
before school on November 6th, from 7:10-7:30.

Green Team meeting Tuesday, October 17th right after school in room 132. We will be
taking our group photo and planting flowers all over school. All are welcome.
Congrats to the Apponequet Girls Cross Country team as they clinched the SCC - Blue Cross Country Championship for the first time since 1989 with wins over GNBVT and Seekonk yesterday (App 19 Seekonk 38; App 18 GNBVT 38 (8-0 in dual meets). Well done Lakers!
