Laker Nation headed into the Thanksgiving break with much for which to be thankful. We recently welcomed parents and guardians and 633 conferences were held. We are thankful for the connection that our students, staff, and wider community display for achievement and resilience. On November 23rd, our students were treated to the traditional Turkey Bingo extravaganza! Thank you to the Student Council for once again treating the school to great fun and prizes and lots of gobbling. The Life skills program and the LIFE club held their annual Friendsgiving with all of the fanfare and fixings. And finally, we headed to ORR, all bundled up, for the annual Thanksgiving football game. It’s a great time to be a Laker!
On Monday, the Apponequet National Honor Society chapter will be hosting its annual Induction Ceremony, November 28th at 6:00 pm. Seventy-one juniors and seniors will join this prestigious organization. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

The Art, Share, Travel club is now taking orders for this year's limited edition tie dye t-shirt. If you would like to order a shirt please see Ms. Lima in room 109 for an order form. The cost is $20. Payment & order forms are due on Friday December 16th.
GREAT news! The “Booked at Apponequet” Book Club has been formed! Selections for the November read are: “Normal People” by Sally Rooney, “I’m Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter” by Erika Sanchez, “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein, and “Wild Bird” by Wendelin Van Draanen. The club will meet on Monday, November 28th to discuss which title they read. All new members are welcome to join. Homecoming will be held on December 16th at White’s of Westport. Ticket sales are closed and hundreds of our students are choosing their finery for the big day.
Our School Store is mobile while under construction. Come see us after school every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to purchase a snack, drink, or candy. We'll be in the cafeteria hallway!
The Winter online athletic registration has opened and will close on Wednesday November 23rd.
First day for all practice/tryouts is Monday November 28th.

Reminder of Driving Instructions for Parents/Guardians
Drop Off - The school opens at 7:00 am and students are supervised in the Lecture Hall until the bell rings at 7:30 am.
Please note that both entrances are open for drop off this year. Vehicles must exit by the same side as they entered and are cautioned to drive carefully as our student drivers enter the building from the parking lot. Please contact the Main Office or SRO Bartholomew with any questions.
Pick Up - We continue to ask parents and guardians to park when arriving for pick up to ensure that cars do not block the bus lanes and Howland Road. If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Main Office or SRO Bartholomew.
