Laker Nation is two weeks into Term 2 and will be releasing the Term 1 Honor Roll next week with a visual presentation and awards. Parent/Guardian Teacher Night will be held on Monday, November 21st from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. All are welcome to visit with your student’s teachers and guidance counselor, no appointment needed.
Seniors enjoyed a presentation by Bristol Community College, the first of a series of presentations culminating in on the spot admissions in the Spring. Other Seniors continue to work with their guidance counselors to meet college admissions deadlines. Juniors are invited to take a field trip tour to the University of MA at Dartmouth on December 2nd and should check their Laker Lockers for details. We will be honoring our 76 Junior inductees, who will be inducted by Senior peers, into the National Honor Society on November 28th at 6:00 pm.
The South Coast Unified Basketball Jamboree was a blast! The team headed to Durfee High School on November 16th and was highlighted with a special award for Sportsmanship. We congratulate our coach, Ms. Nicole Briggs, her team of aides, and all of the players and fans!

The Apponequet Players performed two showings of The Play that Goes Wrong on Friday and Saturday night. We congratulate the director, Mr. Ben Levesque, and the cast and crew for a very successful and hilarious show!
GREAT news! The “Booked at Apponequet” Book Club has been formed! Selections for the November read are: “Normal People” by Sally Rooney, “I’m Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter” by Erika Sanchez, “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein, and “Wild Bird” by Wendelin Van Draanen. The club will meet on Monday, November 28th to discuss which title they read. All new members are welcome to join. The Apponequet National Honor Society chapter will be hosting its annual Induction Ceremony on November 28th at 6:00 pm. Seventy-one juniors and seniors will join this prestigious organization. This event was postponed to allow our junior and senior girl’s soccer team to continue their tournament play and they made us proud!
Homecoming will be held on December 16th at White’s of Westport. Ticket sales are closed and hundreds of our students are choosing their finery for the big day.

Our School Store is going mobile while under construction. Come see us after school every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to purchase a snack, drink, or candy. We'll be in the cafeteria hallway!
The Winter online athletic registration has opened and will close on Wednesday November 23rd.

Student dismissal: Please visit freelake.org and choose the Apponequet website. Click on the “ARHS Parent Dismissal button” and complete the form to dismiss your student.
Reminder of Driving Instructions for Parents/Guardians
Drop Off - The school opens at 7:00 am and students are supervised in the Lecture Hall until the bell rings at 7:30 am.
Please note that both entrances are open for drop off this year. Vehicles must exit by the same side as they entered and are cautioned to drive carefully as our student drivers enter the building from the parking lot. Please contact the Main Office or SRO Bartholomew with any questions.
Pick Up - We continue to ask parents and guardians to park when arriving for pick up to ensure that cars do not block the bus lanes and Howland Road. If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Main Office or SRO Bartholomew.
