Laker Nation

Laker Nation is absolutely thrilled to welcome our staff and students back to school on September 6th!

Back to School Events have included New Student Orientation for the Class of 2026 and new students and our Senior Laker Pride Night in which students enjoyed pizza and games and an opportunity to register for parking and meet with their guidance counselors. A “Drop-In” event on August 29th invites all students to meet with guidance and to pick-up Chromebooks from 12-6, no appointment required.

This coming school year remains focused on great achievement and resilience from our staff and students. You will see our new banner and plaque to celebrate our accomplishments as ARHS was ranked 62nd in the state (top 16%) and 1,475th in the nation by US News and World Report in 2022.  We continue to strive for this academic excellence and achievement through a consistent growth in our academic programming and our high standards for instruction. Our 2022-23 school year will offer courses in our growing Engineering and Computer Science programs and other electives to diversify our offerings and offer hands-on, active-learning opportunities.

School Breakfast and Lunch will continue to be free for all students for 2022 - 2023. Our Food Service Director, Ms. Fay is asking families to please still continue to fill out the free and reduced forms because it allows the district to establish eligibility for P-EBT benefits, and serve families most effectively.

The athletic department is very pleased to report  280 students(39% of our total enrollment) registered for the fall athletic season. This is the largest number of students in the Fall over the last 4 years. 50% of our incoming freshman class will participate this Fall. Well done Lakers!

We are pleased to introduce our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Caitlyn (“Catie”) Sentes. She will be working with students with last names A-J. Mr. Jeffrey Gallant will work with students K-Z. Our guidance counselors will also be working with students in an alphabet model. As always, our focus is upon our students and we believe that this transition will serve all students, in all grades, with the best support.

You are reminded to complete your "Summer Listening" Podcast assignment for English class!  All students received the school-wide assignment in their Google Classrooms and this can be found in class Laker Lockers.  Students are expected to listen to 3 Podcasts from the selected options and digitally complete the slideshow of questions that follow.  Honors and AP students have additional books to read and/or assignments to complete.

Reminder of Driving Instructions for Parents/Guardians

Drop Off - The school opens at 7:00 am and students are supervised in the Lecture Hall until the bell rings at 7:30 am.

Please note that both entrances are open for drop off this year. Vehicles must exit by the same side as they entered and are cautioned to drive carefully as our student drivers enter the building from the parking lot.  Please contact the Main Office or SRO Bartholomew with any questions.

Pick Up - We continue to ask parents and guardians to park when arriving for pick up to ensure that cars do not block the bus lanes and Howland Road. If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Main Office or SRO Bartholomew.

Follow ARHS on Instagram - Arhs.lakernation - where we celebrate every day Laker life, events and our Core Value Award recipients. We have honored multiple students for their achievement, honor, resilience, self-advocacy and random acts of kindness.
