The Guidance Department met with all AP students to discuss College Board and school processes.



They also met with all Seniors throughout the week to disseminate information about transcripts, college searches, Naviance and more. Parents, please ask your student about their red Senior folder and stay tuned for more information from the Guidance Department about this exciting stage of life!














Announcements:

Seniors!  You have a little over one month to submit your yearbook photos and blurbs!  October 11 is the hard deadline and everything needs to be submitted by then.  Please check the google classroom; and if you have any questions, please contact your yearbook advisor Kim Desrosiers.


The Drama Club has begun their auditions and recruitment of stage crew for the fall play and spring musical. Stay tuned to learn more about the fall play, “The Crucible”.


Please note, the Homecoming Dance has been rescheduled from November 8, 2024 to November 15, 2024. Outside guest forms are available in the Main Office and are due by September 25, 2024.


Library News:

Mrs. O’Brien is looking for students who are interested in working in the library for academic credit.  Application materials for the Library Media Specialist Student Internship Program for Semester 1 are available in the library.  Deadline for applying is 2:00 pm on Friday, September 20.


The first meeting of the “All Booked at Apponequet” club was held.  Members were encouraged to bring their favorite book from the summer or their selection from June.  Selections for October were also discussed. We encourage readers to reach out to Mrs. O’Brien for information to join the fun!


Hey Lakers! Today begins the Book Trailer Tuesday!  Each week a new book will be featured for you to consider.  Check your Laker Locker for the link and QR code for the trailer.  If interested in reading, stop by the library to grab your copy!


Student Council elections will be held next week for any freshmen interested in joining their class government. If you are interested, there will be an email and a link in your Laker Locker with a form to fill out and additional info.  If you have any questions email Mr. Solomon or stop by room 142.


Upcoming club meetings:

The first Tech Club meeting of the year will happen after school on Monday, September 16 from 2:15-3:00 pm in Room 220!   Whether you're into gadgets, engineering, or just love exploring how things work, this is the club for you!  Everyone is welcome - no experience needed.  So don’t miss out - mark your calendars and get ready for a tech-tastic time!


The Debate Club with Mr.Macek will hold its first meeting right after school next Tuesday in Room 117.  New members are welcome to attend!


DECA DECA DECA!  Join us next Tuesday right after school to kick off the new year and learn more about our club.  Swing by the cafeteria before your practice or game for a quick snack, trivia prizes, info and registration!  See you there!
