Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Students
AES Needs Your Help!
Would you like to be an AES Pen Pal?
Each summer children move to Lakeville and need a friend when they start school.
YOU could be that friend!
As a pen pal, your responsibility will be to contact the new student through letters, phone calls, emails or hopefully play dates during the summer. Our goal is for the new student to have YOU as a friend and feel included in our AES community when school starts in September. You may also be lucky enough to be in the same class too!
If you would like to be an AES pen pal, please have your family complete the information on this form and return it to me by Friday, June 7th. Thank you for being a great AES student!

ROCCO the Snake is HERE at AES!
Thank you to the Girl Scout Troops 76200 & 77318! We are so excited to see how big Rocco can get! The hope is that every Assawompset student and their family members visit Assawompset over the summer and help Rocco grow longer and longer!
A Look Into Our Classrooms:
ART
Kindergarten students learned how to draw objects by starting with a letter.
First and second graders learned how to make a repeated design out of their names.
Third graders who have finished their tiles enjoyed summer centers.
MUSIC
All classes K-3 participated in the music room obstacle course! Students had to complete the challenge using bucket drumming, boomwhackers, beanbags, music basketball hoop, rhythm grid rings, etc. The kids had a blast!
LIBRARY:
Please return all your library books as soon as possible! If they are lost you may send in a similar book or the exact book to replace it. Thank you!
We are playing Kahoot and reviewing how to be a good digital citizen. We are also reviewing how to stay safe online and always tell a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel quite right. Have a great summer!
PE
This week classes are getting to choose between: learning how to play corn hole, playing snowman down, or getting extra time on the playground.
KINDER
This week in kindergarten, we are reviewing skills and completing fun projects. It has been a wonderful year in kindergarten. Have a fun and safe summer!!
GRADE 1
First graders continue to work on their animal research projects. This week students will be sharing their books with their classmates. Students have been busy working on their end of the year yearbooks and finishing end of the year assessments. We can’t believe how quickly this school year has flown by.
GRADE 2
Second grade had a fantastic week at school. Many classes participated in a thematic unit on camping, encompassing reading, math and STEM activities to review the skills taught this year. Some classes investigated solar energy in order to create solar s’mores. Other classes taught “how-to” lessons to classmates on something they are an expert at. No matter what your second grader did this week, they definitely had a ton of fun learning this week!
GRADE 3
Grade 3 has spent the week getting ready for our Wax Museum Showcase. We are also wrapping up our science unit on weather and moving on to fossils. Thanks for all your support this year!
