Emotions and Holding GRUDGES!
At our most recent school wide ceremony we focused on HOLDING GRUDGES and watched the following clip! It is a great book to review with your children as we focus on ALL emotions being ok - there are NO BAD emotions. It is how we ACT and RESPOND to the emotions. Enjoy the video, if you so please!

Library:
The winner of our March Book Madness is The Cool Bean by Jory John! It was a close vote with several lead changes throughout the week!
This week in library our Kindergarten and first graders are starting a unit on poetry with various authors for National Poetry Month. We are reading poem excerpts from Giant Children by Brog Bogerts.
Our second and third graders are working again on finishing up our book trailer project after a brief hiatus! Students are filming this week using the green screens.
PE
This week in PE, classes are playing either small sided games of basketball or team handball. In either game the goal is to pass and move to open space in order to get your team a good shot at the goal or hoop. Students are working hard and playing good defense as well as passing well on offense.
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we began a three week unit on “The Animal Kingdom!” We started off with baby animals as we read Zoo Borns!- a non fiction text written by Andrew Bleiman and Chris Eastland. New sight words added this week included have and for. We counted the days away as we counted by 1s to 100 and beyond. We also continued our work with the hundreds chart.
Grade 1
All the first graders have been busy getting ready for Grandparents Day. On Wednesday, first grade families and their grandparents enjoyed a “throw back” to the sixties. Students made tie-dye shirts, learned many songs by the Beatles and each first grade class shared a special performance with their guests. Way to go first graders! Many thanks to Mrs. Eacobacci!
Grade 2
In Reading and Science, Grade 2 students have been learning about weathering, erosion, and deposition. Students are learning that the Earth’s surface is constantly changing and new land is being formed. Students have been excited to learn all about the Earth’s surfaces.
During math, students have been working diligently on telling time to the hour, half hour, nearest five minutes and minute, as well as starting to learn about counting coins and learning a new song to remember each coin's value. We have also been continuing to review 3 digit subtraction with regrouping.
We also ended the week with our book tasting. You’re probably wondering what that is, right? A book tasting is when you get to “taste” or explore a variety of different genres (such as nonfiction, fiction, biography, etc).
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and holiday!
Grade 3
Grade 3 has been busy learning the mechanics of taking the MCAS. We have practiced using the available tools on the test, and the kids are feeling ready and comfortable with the technology. They’ve worked very hard to prepare; we are proud of all of them!
A Note from Nurse Nancy:
I have had the pleasure of precepting students nurses from Brockton Hospital and Bristol Community College for their Community Nursing rotation. They have been helping with mandatory hearing and vision screening. The nursing students are helping me with classroom projects, which will focus on Hygiene: hand washing, coughing, and personal hygiene.
Have a GREAT long weekend!
