ARHS students are invited to participate in the Bridgewater State University Film Festival  Do you know any students who create their own short films? Please let them know about the BSU Student Film Festival.  They’re welcome to submit a short film for the competition, and hopefully join us online or in-person for the festival itself on December 4th in the BSU Moakley Auditorium.

Students can submit their film to the festival for free to be judged alongside the work of other high school and university students from across New England. The deadline for submission has been extended to October 29, 2024.

Students are encouraged to join us for the festival where they can participate in the screenings, networking events, and award ceremony. They can visit the event’s website for the latest information and event itinerary.

From ARHS Boosters for ALL Families K-12- LAKER GEAR

We are writing regarding our new online school store for Laker and Athletic specific apparel. Boosters have been working directly with Evan Swan from the Swan Brothers in MA over the last 9 months and we are excited to have the store up and running.  The store will remain open year round, with new items being added as we continue to make enhancements. Our goal is to support families K-12 but not take away from our K-5 gear fundraisers.

For seniors we have also been working to create a "Senior Shop".  10% of ALL proceeds go to the ARHS Athletic Booster Club as we work together to support the athletic initiatives and everything is mailed directly to your house.

This story, should you choose to read it, was sent to me by a parent a few years back and I was reminded of its impact as I watched with pride, 20 FLMS students greet, serve and sit with over 75 senior citizens at our annual Senior Citizen breakfast. The students were remarkable, and represented what we see daily from students from PK-Adult transition: kindness, enthusiasm and concern for the welfare of others. This heart-warming story proves we are never too young to give back and that the cost can be minimal and yet, the results are life altering.

A 7 year old made their lives brighter

One doesn’t need a drivers license, huge bank account or multiple degrees to make a big difference in the lives of others. We must remember that what we give out - comes back to us and how we treat others - is brought back two fold in ways we may never truly understand or notice.

We all know that giving back is not about spending money, and we see daily here at FLRSD and throughout our communities, the generosity and spirit of giving daily. Our Faculty, Paraprofessionals Assistant Principals, Secretaries, Nurses, Support Staff, Coaches, Counselors, Schedulers, School Psychologists, OT, BCBA and PT specialists, our SRO’s Food Service, Maintenance and Custodial Staffs, as well as Central Office Administration and Staff, School Committee, Town Officials and Support Staff, First Responders and Community Partners give “gifts” daily to our students and this community in the form of time, care, support and kindness, all of which are priceless. So I ask all of us to again, take a moment and reach out to say thank you, extend a hand, make a call rather than simply text, visit someone who could use your time and most of all, let those who might not know you appreciate them, that you do.  It is one of those magical gifts for both parties.

Have a great weekend,

Be Well…

Alan
