FLMS National Junior Honor Society
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL of our National Junior Honor Society Students who were inducted this past week. FLMS NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY STUDENTS The 5 tenets of NJHS are Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character and Citizenship and each student must maintain an average of 90 and complete 4 hours of community service per term!.
To all of our Principals: Ms. Pineault, Mr.Ward, Dr. Sullivan Ms. Francisco and Ms. Dessert we celebrate you during National Principals Month and throughout the year. Thank you for your leadership and your guidance!

First Student is Hiring Bus Drivers
Are you or someone you know looking for part time work? Become a bus driver WE NEED YOU! Great pay and full training provided! Starting pay is $33.27 per hour. Please contact Ken at 508-763-9260 or go to workfirst.com for more information.
If your student/s are not taking the bus and the bus stops in front of your residence please contact the bus company Kenneth.rezendes@firstgroup.com so bus drivers do not stop, which in turn saves time in getting students to their destination.

Poster Contest
We know how many incredibly creative students we have, and even more who do not realize how creative they are! Students in grades k-12 are eligible to enter the MPY (Massachusetts Partnership for Youth) poster contest- The theme is “Together we can achieve Greatness!” We encourage you to submit an entry!
From ARHS Boosters for ALL families k-12- LAKER GEAR
We are writing regarding our new online school store for Laker and Athletic specific apparel. Boosters have been working directly with Evan Swan from the Swan Brothers in MA over the last 9 months and we are excited to have the store up and running. The store will remain open year round, with new items being added as we continue to make enhancements. Our goal is to support families K-12 but not take away from our K-5 gear fundraisers.
For seniors we have also been working to create a "Senior Shop". 10% of ALL proceeds go to the ARHS Athletic Booster Club as we work together to support the athletic initiatives and everything is mailed directly to your house.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who have loved ones in Florida and to the entire state which has been impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Milton. As I listened to so many citizens discuss having gratitude for their families “being alive”, rather than focusing on “things” that were destroyed, it once again dawned on me that we always have a choice as to how we react and that there is always something to be grateful for. Should you choose to read the story below of a gentleman who chose gratitude over anger, which left many asking “would I react as Mr. Hinton did”, we hopefully all will realize the wonderful gifts we have around us, at home, in our two towns and within our schools.
I am deeply proud that so many of our Principals, Assistant Principals, Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Counselors, School Psychologists, Team Chairs, OT and PT, Nurses, Library and IT Staff, SRO’s, Coaches, Advisors Food Service, Maintenance and Custodial Staff, as well as Central Office Administration and Staff, School Committee, Town Officials, First Responders and all of our Community Partners consistently speak with gratitude about our students here at FLRSD and about their jobs. I hear daily in conversations with students that an adult in the building helped guide and encourage them and how appreciative they were for this support. Working in a school, in any capacity, is an incredibly noble and at times thankless profession and I hope we all understand that these talented caring adults deserve gratitude coming back to them, for how much passion and care they bring into our school community each day.
May your long weekend and the upcoming week be filled with kindness and gratitude.
